Our Story
The origins of Pro-Venture go back to the late 1990’s when the original idea to create an independent outdoor adventure service was realised onto paper and later the internet.
While that original business, Acclimbatize (established 1999) continues to flourish; delivering superb outdoor education programmes to schools, groups and businesses, we’ve taken conscious steps to segment the individualised courses and re-direct them into the Pro-Venture camp.
Course segmentation means greater clarity for the customer, the instructional staff and management alike. The Pro-Venture focus is now re-sharpened to the original concept of a person centred outdoor pursuits service.
Pro-Venture continues to draw on the support infrastructure and the expertise available from a well established, award winning adventure business.

Pro-Venture is presently being project managed by Daryl Godfrey.
Daryl is a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, International and Winter Mountain Leader and holds the Caving Instructors Certificate.
Daryl has delivered accredited leadership courses since 1997. He is an approved course provider & course director for the national governing bodies (Mountain Training and British Caving Association).
His professional credibility above, is strongly underpinned by a wealth of personal experience which includes; a significant number of classic big wall climbing ascents and mountaineering expeditions to the greater ranges. He has also organised and lead numerous deep expedition style caving trips.
Pro-Venture is the specialised training arm of the Acclimbatize Adventure Group.
We are perfectly located in the White Peak area of Derbyshire close to Matlock. Our activities utilise the natural environments within the Peak District National Park. The Lake District. The Yorkshire Dales and the Snowdonia in North Wales.
Our approach to delivering adventurous training is defined by a policy of ‘Challenge by Choice’.
Participants on our courses are positively encouraged and actively supported to achieve their best level of challenge or learning.
We believe in giving people the space to build and expand their own confidence in a socially acceptable environment that supports learning for all.
